  • Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow will not be part of the tournament
  • The final of the tournament will be played at Lord’s
England Cricket Board’s (ECB) The Hundred is back and the 100-ball competition will once again remain the talk of the town for the next one month due to its unique rules and style of play. Every match consists of 100 balls and the ends change after 10 balls.

In international cricket, an over consists of 6 balls. The rule is different in The Hundred and a bowler can ball 5 or 10 balls in one go. A bowler cannot bowl more than 20 balls in a match. There are many other rules that make The Hundred competition different from other leagues around the world.

Many star players will be in action during the course of the tournament but the Indian players will not be part of it. Several reports have suggested that the Indians could be allowed to play in foreign leagues but a final decision hasn’t been taken yet.

Ben Stokes, who recently retired from ODI cricket, won’t be part of the 100-ball competition. Apart from him, Jonny Bairstow has also decided to miss the league. Since England will be hosting South Africa during the course of the tournament, many international stars will leave the competition midway.

Southern Braves will square off against Welsh Fire in the opening game of the tournament. The side finishing at the top spot will directly qualify for the final to be played at Lord’s on September 3. The 2nd and 3rd placed sides will square off in the Eliminator on September 2. The tournament includes 32 league stage matches and 2 second-round matches.
