Draupadi Murmu reportedly visited Lord Jagannath, Hanuman, and Shiv temples at Rairangpur town and offered her prayers today morning.
Murmu was also seen sweeping the floor at Purnandeswar Shiv temple in the town before offering prayers. Then, she visited Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya and paid obeisance, said reports.
Earlier today, the Centre provided round-the-clock Z+ security cover by armed CRPF personnel to the NDA presidential candidate. The CRPF commandos took over the security of Murmu early this morning, a senior officer told PTI.
BJP president JP Nadda on Tuesday announced that Murmu, a tribal leader of the party from Odisha, will be the ruling NDA’s candidate for the upcoming presidential polls. The decision was taken following a meeting of the party’s parliamentary board, which included Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders.

Murmu comes with vast political experience. She had been a long-time legislator and minister and was conferred with Neelkanth award for legislator in 2007.
Murmu has served as a Governor of Jharkhand for a full term. Born in 1958, she completed her B.A from Ramadevi Women’s College in Bhubaneswar.
She hails from Santhal tribal community. If she wins the presidential race, Murmu will become India’s first tribal woman President after a Dalit and a Muslim president. In 2002, NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee named APJ Abdul Kalam, a scientist, as NDA nominee and helped him sail through as the Muslim President.
