Tesla To Open Ventilators Production At Gigafactory: Coronavirus

Tesla will immediately start production of the ventilators at its New York Gigafactory in response to the current Coronavirus pandemic in the US.

There has been a lot going on with Elon Musk and Tesla over the past week. To get you on track, here’s a brief overview.

First, small disputes occurred between the authorities and Tesla over shutting down the Gigafatory in Alameda County. However, Tesla agreed to shut down production at its Fremont and New York Gigafactories.

Soon after, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the company is working on Ventilators.

On March 21, 2020, Elon Musk tweeted that they had a long discussion with Medtronic about ventilators. Following the discussion, Medtronic confirmed the collaborative work to fight COVID-19 via a tweet.

Tesla Gigafactory To Produce Ventilators Amid Coronavirus

Tesla recently bought 1255 FDA-approved ResMed, Philips, and Medtronic ventilators from China. As China had an oversupply of the ventilators, Elon decided to import them to LA.

Also, Elon posted that if anyone needs a free ventilator, they can just let him know.

Additionally, Elon confirmed on his Twitter handle that Gigafactory New York is going to reopen for ventilator production as early as humanly possible.

He said that the company will do anything to help prevent the citizens of New York from catching the coronavirus.

Elon Musk is clearly using his philanthropist skills amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. He is known for helping out during global crisis situations. In South Australia, Elon has helped install a giant battery to power nearby towns.

The battery ended up saving millions of dollars in electricity for the local town. Let’s hope his efforts bear fruit for the people of New York and humanity at large during this crisis.
