MTS Express, mobile tire shop, having success in Springfield – News-Leader

Science & Technology

MTS Express owner Jordan Graaf remembers being frustrated years ago while he sat waiting in a tire shop. He thought to himself “there has to be a better way.”
So Graaf got on Google and started researching mobile tire shops that come to the customer, instead of the other way around. Graaf found businesses in Canada but none in the United States.
Graaf kept this idea to himself as years went by, waiting on the right moment to bring his idea to life in Springfield. In 2020, Graaf decided to start his business, MTS (Mobile Tire Shop) Express. The COVID-19 pandemic made things difficult at first, but Graaf now sees that as a “blessing in disguise.”
“It was very tough to prove this concept because nobody had ever heard of a mobile tire store,” Graaf said.
MTS Express was created with the idea of saving people time. Instead of having to go to a traditional tire shop, a customer can call MTS Express and Graaf will load up his specially-equipped van and come change the customer’s tires in their driveway or parking lot.
MTS Express covers a 30-mile radius around Springfield. The company carries major tire brands and can also do custom wheel packages.

This may be Graaf’s first business he’s owned but he is no stranger to the automotive field, having worked in car repair shops over the years. He hopes to expand soon by adding another van and more technicians so that MTS Express can be open seven days a week.
Graaf told the News-Leader that “it feels really good” to start his first business, and he feels validated because of the success he’s seen over the last two years.
MTS Express is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only. For more information, visit MTS Express‘ website or call 417-986-1234.
