MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile Police Department has announced the results from the safety checkpoints that occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 22.
From 5 p.m. to midnight, safety checkpoints were conducted at Cody Road at Airport Blvd, St. Stephens Road at Pleasant Ave, Highway 90 at Old Pascagoula Road, and Halls Mill Road at McVay Drive. MCPD only made one arrest, which was for having no pistol permit.
Paul Prine, Mobile Police Chief said, “We were not looking to overburden the community with citations, rather, we want the community to know that we are out there protecting citizens through our concerted show of force.”
MPD only conducted stationary safety checkpoints.

CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WKRG) — A Crestview man is being held in the Okaloosa County Jail after he was charged with multiple domestic violence-related felonies by the sheriff’s office.
A victim said that on the morning of Dec. 23, Anthony Roca, 37, sexually battered her, punched her in the head and face, kicked her, and pulled her around by the hair. Roca is also accused of threatening to kill the victim.
WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A resident of Walton County died after being thrown from a golf cart on Thursday, Dec. 23.
The victim, a 71-year-old man, was driving a golf cart when he suddenly swerved to the left and the cart started overturning, causing him to be thrown from the golf cart, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
