On a mixed day for Indian boxing at the Commonwealth Games 2022, reigning world champion Nikhat Zareen (women’s 50 kg), Mohammed Hussamuddin (men’s 50 kg) and Nitu Ghanghas (women’s 48 kg) assured the country medals with quarter-final wins. But Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain (women’s 70 kg) and Ashish Kumar (men’s 80 kg) lost their respective bouts.
