Greenwood police assisted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on warrant arrest at a mobile home subdivision late Tuesday afternoon.
Police responded to a call from IMPD late Tuesday afternoon asking for SWAT team assistance for a warrant arrest at the Greenwood Estates mobile home community at U.S. 31 and Stop 18 Road, said Matt Fillenwarth, assistant chief of police.
GPD officials do not know the details of the arrest or the situation, and just responded to the request from IMPD, Fillenwarth said. The warrant is not related to a local case, he said.
The situation caused Central Nine Career Center to go on lock down and students who live in Greenwood Estates to be temporarily taken back to school while the situation unfolds, according to an email from Clark-Pleasant Community Schools. The email said parents can instead pick up their children from the school buildings, or wait for buses to resume.
The story will be updated when more information becomes available.
