EZ Pass renewal price going up January 1st – WVNS-TV

GHENT, WV (WVNS) – We’re in the last few days for West Virginians to renew their EZ Passes before the rates go up in 2022.
People who currently have an EZ Pass can renew for only $25 before the rates go up on January 1, 2022. The price to renew EZ Passes will jump to $26.50 when the new year hits.
The price of tolls on the interstate for those who don’t have EZ Passes will also rise by five percent. Moving from $4.00 to $4.25

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) – With New Year’s Eve approaching quickly, you should consider COVID safety before making your party plans. If you’re looking for a safer option, the city of Bluefield’s Lemon Drop is an example of a COVID-safe option to celebrate new years.
The celebration is outdoors, which greatly decreases the risk of catching or spreading COVID. Bluefield City Ambassador Marie Blackwell, said if you really want to avoid the crowds, you can even watch the fireworks show from your car.
GRANDVIEW, WV (WVNS) — The New River National Park and Preserve announced an added area for hunting.
Hunting is allowed in roughly 90 percent of the national park. However, starting January 1, 2022, 400 acres will be available for hunting in the Grandview area that was previously closed. This area is accessible only from Glade Creek Road. Dave Bieri, the District Supervisor at the New River Gorge Park and Preserve, said hunting is important for the area and now there is even more woods for hunters to explore.
