AOKZOE A1: AMD Ryzen 7 6800U handheld starts on Kickstarter tomorrow from US$899 –

Science & Technology

Last week, AOKZOE introduced the A1, which it began teasing in June. Equipped with an 8-inch and 1,920 x 1,200-pixel IPS display, the AOKZOE A1 also has up to a 65 Wh battery and an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U APU. While the APU’s Zen 3+ CPU cores should provide a healthy performance boost from the Zen 3 cores in its predecessor. However, the Radeon 680M is the real star of the show in a gaming handheld like the AOKZOE A1, which has 12 Compute Units (CUs) based on AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture.
Although AYA NEO has revealed numerous Ryzen 7 6800U-powered gaming handhelds so far, none are available to order yet. In comparison, the AOKZOE A1 will be available on Kickstarter from tomorrow. As it stands, AOKZOE will launch its Kickstarter campaign at 15:00 UTC, with the AOKZOE A1 orderable worldwide. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when AOKZOE will start fulfilling Kickstarter orders, nor how many units will be available.
Regardless, the device will start at US$899 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Alternatively, AOKZOE will offer a 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage configuration for US$999, with the company charging an additional US$150 for a 2 TB drive. Finally, there will be a 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB SSD option that will retail for US$1,299. Based on AOKZOE’s teasers, it will sell both the Standard and Ultimate Editions on Kickstarter, which feature different battery capacities.
