Alia Bhatt ‘not annoyed’ by accusations of hiding and flaunting baby bump, says ‘they’ve run out of new things’

And, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that sometimes, the curiosity around her pregnancy overtakes her professional achievements. Alia has just wrapped up her Hollywood debut – Heart of Stone – with Gal Gadot. The actress has right away immersed herself into the promotions of Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra.

Despite that, the spotlight remains focused mainly on her off-screen persona than her onscreen performances. In a recent interview, the Highway actress spoke about how the tags associated with her kept on changing ever since her wedding. She also added that she doesn’t get perturbed by any of that.

“Well, it’s such an entertaining question. I’m not annoyed at all. Doesn’t even make my eyelids bat,” she told Mashable India.

The Brahmastra actress further added, “I think they’ve run out of new things to write about me. So when I got married, I was newly-wed Alia. Now, I’m pregnant Alia, pregnancy glow Alia, or mom-to-be Alia, baby bump hiding Alia and, baby bump flaunting Alia. Well, I don’t even want to give it attention.”

The actress added, “It’s such a personal choice like any clothes are clothes. Like I don’t get it. What do you mean by flaunting?”

Well, we couldn’t agree with Alia Bhatt any more. Actresses are often subjected to this body scrutiny and are constantly gazed at through a voyeuristic lens. It is time we let the couple enjoy this phase and focus on the promotions of their next film.

On the work front, Alia and Ranbir’s first film together – Brahmastra – is all set for a grand release in September.
